Dr. Toledo, who earned his DVM in Mexico in 1986, practiced there for three years before moving to the US, where he became fully accredited by the AVMA in 2000 and now enjoys spending time with his family and five rescued dogs.

Dr. Melanie Ortega is a veterinarian with a BSc from Florida International University and a DVM from the University of Florida, who transitioned from equine sports medicine to small animal practice, and enjoys working out and cheering for the Miami Heat in her free time.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Dr. Salazar is a veterinarian specializing in cardiology, internal medicine, and surgery, who is passionate about healing pets and advises all owners to invest in pet insurance.

Zach began his journey at Homestead Animal Hospital as a kennel assistant at age 16 and, after a decade as a vet tech, he now serves as a leader who mentors the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Viviana, a Homestead native, has spent eight years in the veterinary field caring for animals. Outside work, she enjoys car events, bowling, movies, and time with loved ones. She shares her life with two Belgian Malinois, Lola and Diesel.

Lead Veterinary Technician

Cynthia, a Homestead native, joined Homestead Animal Hospital in 2014 and became a Veterinary Technician in 2018. She loves working one-on-one with pets and clients. Outside work, she enjoys the beach, swimming, family time, and caring for her four cats-Simba, Dusty, Princess, and Omalley.

Jason is a dedicated animal lover and advocate for pets. Born and raised in Homestead Florida, Jason has been working since 2022.

Veterinary Technician

Born in Havana, Cuba, Ismael has worked in veterinary medicine since 1993 and specializes in K9 behavior after training with J&K K9 Academy. Experienced with dogs and exotics, he enjoys airboating, fishing, and time with his four dogs-Sugar, Cootter, Scooby, and Elle.

Surgical Veterinary Technician

Originally from Alaska, Alanna began her veterinary career as a receptionist before becoming a technician. She loves the variety her work brings and helping pets heal. Outside the clinic, she enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her dog, Zola.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Anahi has loved dogs since childhood and can't imagine life without them. With a year of veterinary experience, she's pursuing a career as a veterinarian. She shares her home with five dogs and a hamster and enjoys volleyball, the outdoors, and time with loved ones.
